Imagine calling the beautiful Isle of St. Croix home. Hope does even after she leaves the island to live in the states.    She returns for a visit, and many childhood memories of growing up on the old plantation come flooding back to her.  

 

Hope always wondered what it must have been like growing up there when the plantation was in operation. Especially for someone like her, biracial.  She doesn't have to wonder any more.  One afternoon she is transported to 1848 in a dream, days before the emancipation of slavery.  ​She is determined to uncover a few secrets that have been buried for over twenty years on the plantation.
